Becoming a CLP Assessor

As a CLP-accredited person, you will understand the principles, methodologies and practices underlying the CarbonLite Programme. You will be able to apply them to the development of low energy, low carbon buildings in a design and construction context.

At a minimum, you will have attended the following training courses:

  • Module 2 Understanding Energy in Buildings (1 Day)
  • Module 3: An Introduction to Passivhaus and the AECB Energy Standards (1 Day)
  • Module 4: CarbonLite in Practice: (1 Day)
  • Module 5: Designing Low Energy, Low Carbon Buildings (2 Days)
  • Module 6: Using PHPP in a Building Certification Process (2 Days)

You will pass the exam at the end of Module 6 and will maintain a record of the portfolio of buildings and developments in which you are involved. Buildings which you wish to be accredited to an AECB standard will go through the AECB standard process with checks by the Passivhaus Institute.

Accredited individuals will be able to participate in the PHPP User Forum on the AECB web-site and benefit from attending at least one meeting a year to discuss the issues raised.
